

Eleanor D. (Porrazzo) Babb, 98, of Scituate, MA, was born in Rockland, MA to Joseph and Marie (Senna) Porrazzo in 1928. The youngest child of five to southern Italian immigrants, Eleanor is predeceased by her brothers Ralph and Danny Porrazzo, and her sisters Julie Noreen and Angela Norkus.
Eleanor graduated from Rockland High School in 1947, and afterwards pursued a career in hairdressing and enjoyed attending local dances where she eventually met her beloved husband Andrew “Wally” Babb Sr. They married in 1952 and together they traveled the world, built a home in Scituate, raised a family, and were known to clear dance floors with their mesmerizing skills.
Eleanor was the owner of Angela’s Beauty Salon in Rockland, MA, and with the help of her husband got Hairdressing added to the official list of Certified Home Occupations in Rockland. She was also a passionate boater, having five vessels named Laura Andrew alongside Wally, always docking at the Scituate Harbor Yacht Club as longstanding members. Eleanor was a proud member of the Gourmet Guild and an exceptional hostess both on land and at sea.
She was the beloved matriarch of the Babb family and the devoted wife of Andrew Babb Sr. for 64 years. She is survived by her children, Andrew Jr., Laura of Halifax, MA., and Christopher of Portland, OR. She is also survived by her niece, Donna Fantasia of Hanover, MA, and her granddaughters Rachel, Julia, and Lauren Babb of Marshfield, MA.
Visitation – Tuesday, April 7th from 4-7 PM at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home in Scituate. Funeral mass – Wednesday, April 8th at 9:30 AM at St. Mary’s of the Nativity in Scituate.”
