

Euclides "Kiki" Ribeiro of Scituate, MA on Oct. 6, 2010, joined his beloved wife Dina "Da" in eternal peace at the age of 87. Lovingly known as "Papa" to his large family. Born on September 9, 1923 in Figueira Pavao-Santa Catarina, Fogo, Cabo Verde; the son of the late Nicolau "Nene" and Rosa (Tavares) Ribeiro. He came from a well-known family of proprietors in Cape Verde, where he managed his family's properties. Papa was a well dressed and quietly confident man. A man of faith: hardworking, a no- nonsense guy with a quick-wit and a keen sense of humor. He adored his family, after his retirement he took great satisfaction caring for his grandchildren. Papa enjoyed music, dance and vacationing to Cape Verde. He took pride in his work. He enjoyed working in his yard, shopping, maintaining his home, and taking long walks with his wife. In 1967, Papa joined his father in the United States, in hopes of providing more opportunities for his wife and seven children. His family followed shortly thereafter, settling in Scituate MA. In the United States he worked for Wheeler Construction Company until his retirement. Papa, along with his wife proudly became U.S Citizens in 1998. Devoted husband for 64 years to the late Jesuina Dina (Daluz) Ribeiro. Dedicated father of Antonia "Rosilda" Veiga and her husband Gregory of Scituate, and Maria "Socorro" Fontes and her husband Miguel of Brockton, Maria "Lilia" Powers and her husband Robert of Randolph, Maria "Elsie" Rampersad and her husband Kenny of Avon, Rosalina "Wawa" Grijalva and her husband David of Abington, Nick Ribeiro of Scituate and Angela "Zilda" Dray and her husband Robert of Scituate. Loving grandfather to 19 grandchildren: Larry, Tommy, Johnny, Greg, Jessica, Kishan, Ana, Melissa, Shalisa, Christopher, Adrianna, Kelly, Dina, Roman, Nicky, Melanie, Alex, Bobby, Melinda and 16 great-grandchildren: Gabrielle, Issiah, Giovanni, Giselle, Jesiah, Lazarus, Jiva, Gianna, Gracelyn, Anisha, Ava, Grace, Mylee, Eliana, Kaikua, Zoe. Loyal brother of Aguinelo Andrade Ribeiro of Cape Verde, and the late Floripa Ribeiro, brother-in-law of Aguinaldo Daluz and Zulmira Ribeiro of Brockton, and the late Zulmira Fernandes, Maria (Caela) Daluz, Henrique Daluz, Manuel Fernandes Daluz, Filemio Daluz, Linda Fontes. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Papa will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Funeral from the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, Saturday, Oct. 9 at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Mary of the Nativity Church, Scituate at 10 a.m. Interment in Union Cemetery, Scituate. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday from 4-8 p.m.
