Francis Obert

Obie worked 48 years for Metcalf & Eddy in Boston. He worked his way up from junior engineer to Senior Vice President of M&E National and President of M&E International. He was responsible for the development of their international division. Obie’s travels took him around the world 7 times with work in Saudi Arabia, India, Japan, Brazil, and many other locations.

A WWII veteran, Obie was an Officer with the Navy Seabees serving in the Philippines and Japan.

Obie’s deepest passion was as Owner/Operator of Sunset Acres Cottage Colony in Truro, MA. Obie and his wife Blanid operated the cottages for many years having the business in the family for 50 years.

Devoted father of Susan M. Patterson of VT, Dennis A. Obert and his wife Donna Lee of AZ, Michael J. Obert and his wife Anne of Walpole, Sarah Obert-Keefe and her late husband John F., Joseph G. Obert and his wife Marybeth all of Scituate, and the late Francis A. Obert, Jr.

Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Friends and Family are invited to attend visiting hours at the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd, Scituate on Thurs., Nov. 8th from 4PM to 8PM. Funeral from the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, on Friday, Nov. 9th at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary of the Nativity Church, Scituate at 10AM.
