

He was the loving son of Howard (Deacon) D. Phillips II; devoted brother of Marie Thompson and her husband Ken, H. Catherine Lauria and her husband Jeff, John T. Barnes and his wife Victoria, Scott Barnes and his wife Toni; 6 nephews, Michael Bergman, Robert Hennebury and Nick, Will, Paul and Scott Barnes; 4 nieces, Dominique and Carissa Lauria, Jen Barnes and Kristen Thompson; great-uncle to Reese Bergman and Sara Pearl Hennebury. He was preceded in death by Jane and John Barnes and Jessie Phillips.
He was a graduate of Hingham High School, Class of 1975.
He worked as a billing coordinator for the law firm of Stevenson and Lynch since 2004; previously for Sager Electronics as a sales rep.
Howie was an avid bowling enthusiast and spent many hours working and bowling at the Satuit Bowlaway as well as appearing on numerous television bowling shows. He loved all sports, especially the Yankees. He used his innate ability with numbers to enjoy his time at the casinos and race tracks. Golfing, fishing and karaoke were some of his passions. Most important to him were his friends and family, his buddies whom he referred to as the Nitwits, Howie said "youd all know who you are."
A visitation will take place Monday, December 8, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate.
