John T. Lopes

Devoted father of John Lopes and his wife Gisela of Claremont CA, Dorothy Martin and her husband Donald of Marshfield, Daniel Lopes and his wife Susan of Bourne, and William Lopes and his wife Maria of Scituate.

Cherished grandfather of 9 grandchildren: Dawn, Amy, Sasha, Dana, Alex, Jahan, D.J., Aaron and Alanah. And 4 great grandchildren: Daesia, CJ, Cruz and Caiden.

Loving brother of Dorothy Gomes and her husband Julio of Canton, OH, Maria Barbosa and her husband Armando of Scituate and the late Virgilio Andrade.

Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

He was born in Brava, Cape Verde Islands to Laura(Silva) and Thomas Lopes.

John Lopes was a longtime employee of the Town of Scituate and retired after 28 years of service.

Funeral from the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd., Scituate Friday May 27, 2016 at 9:00AM. Mass of Christian burial at 10 A.M. At St.Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent St., Scituate. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting Hours Thursday May 26,2016 from 4:00-8:00P.M. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
