June C. Merrill

MERRILL, June C.- Age 98, of Scituate, passed away on February 7, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Ruth Goddard. Wife of the late Ralph Merrill. Cherished mother of Scott C. Merrill of Scituate, Linda J. O’Connor of Stamford, CT and Lisa B. Burzak, her husband Jay of Salem, NH. Beloved grandmother to June O’Connor, Catherine O’Connor, James O’Connor, Patrick O’Connor, Amy Burzak, Aaron Burzak, great grandmother to Kaylan Pinnix and the late Karl Pinnix. She was the loving sister to Patricia Panet-Raymond and the late James Goddard, Charles Goddard and Verdella Fletcher.

A lifelong resident of Scituate, she graduated from Scituate High School in 1944. June owned and ran the South Shore Department Store in Scituate Harbor and was a member of the Chamber of Commerce. She was an active member of The Mother's Group, parents of special needs children. She also supported the Special Olympics.

A visitation will take place on Sunday February 15, 2026 from 3-7pm at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday February 16, 2026 at 10am at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate. Donations in June’s name can be made to The Special Olympics.
