Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, he was the son of the late Leslie E. and Alice V. (Danese) Thomas. He was the brother of Emilou Dupuy of Louisiana and the late Edward Walters. He was a proud veteran of the US Coast Guard and US Army, serving from World War II up until 1954. In his civilian life, he was employed for many years as an air conditioning engineer.
Leslie was the beloved husband of the late Betty Thomas, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage shortly before her passing.
He is survived by his loving daughters PatriciaThomas and Leslie Payne. He was also the father of the late Kelly Jean Thomas, who predeceased him in 2006.
He was the cherished grandfather of Kimberly, Jason and Trisha who all reside in Florida. Also survived by four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were private.
