

Scituate – Martha (Tipton) Holland, 65, of Scituate, died November 14, after a three-year struggle with cancer. Martha was the beloved wife of Michael Holland, and devoted mother of Jonathan Holland and Caroline Holland, both of Scituate. She was the daughter of the late Jon and Emily Tipton, and sister of the late John Tipton. She was the proud mother-in-law of Katie Teufel and grandmother to Zachary, Kyle and Whitney.
Born and raised in Needham, she had lived in Scituate for over 30 years. For 32 years she worked as a flight attendant for Delta Airlines. She volunteered for the Good Samaritans and the Perkins School for the Blind. She also organized a local PACT diabetes support group in the area.
Martha was known to many young children in town, as she taught at the Beach Street Preschool in Scituate for 10 years, and was loved by the children and parents alike for her patience, kindness, and her ability to make children feel special. For the past 5 years she also worked at Joye, in Scituate Harbor, where so many customers will fondly remember her for her friendly smile, sweet disposition, and infectious enthusiasm.
Martha was an avid Red Sox fan and she was an active member of The First Trinitarian Congregational Church. She was a genuine, giving, thoughtful, brave person, who was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Friends and family are invited to memorial visitation on Friday, Nov. 22nd in the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd, Scituate from 4PM to 8PM. A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Saturday, Nov. 23rd in the First Trinitarian Congregational Church, 381 Country Way, Scituate at 3:30pm. Burial will be private.
