Michael Joseph Constantine, 56, of Scituate, MA, passed away on November 7, 2025, after living with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) with remarkable courage, humor, and grace. While Mike lived with ALS, ALS never defined him. He continued to live fully, love deeply, and remain himself throughout his illness. He was the beloved husband of Allyson (Hazel) Constantine, with whom he shared 29 years of marriage.
Born in Brookline, Massachusetts, Mike was the son of the late William Joseph and Maureen (Ferris) Constantine. He grew up in Natick, where he learned the value of hard work and community at an early age working as a paperboy and pizza maker. Mike loved sports, especially soccer and hockey, and the friendships and communities that formed around them. Mike graduated from Northeastern University, and during his college years, he traveled to Los Angeles to be with Allyson, taking classes at UCLA while the two built the foundation of their life together.
Mike and Allyson began their family in Milton, later moved to Perry Hall, MD and ultimately settled in Scituate, where they raised their children and became deeply rooted members of the community.
Mike began his professional career at Eaton Vance and later worked at Constellation Energy and Edison International before founding Truelight, a company grounded in his passion for the energy sector and his belief in caring for the environment and the future. He was known in his professional life for integrity, mentorship, and genuine care for others. Colleagues and clients alike remember him not only as a leader, but as a trusted guide and friend.
Above all, Mike’s greatest pride and joy was his family. He was the devoted father of Jack Michael Constantine (20) and Julia Grace Constantine (23), who were the center of his world. He admired Julia’s compassion for animals and nature, seeing in her a deep gentleness and steadiness of spirit. He often said that Julia had a way of making every living thing feel safe, and he took great pride in her ability to bring care and light into the world. He cherished his bond with Jack through shared athletics, academics, and long conversations about life. Mike and Jack shared the same philosophy of living with kindness and putting others first, a value Mike embodied every day and passed on through his example. His love, guidance, and presence will continue to shape their lives in profound and enduring ways.
He is survived by his sisters Kelli Fleming and her husband Phillip Fleming, Eileen Aviza and her husband John Aviza, Annmarie Morini and her husband Daniel Morini and many nieces, nephews, colleagues and friends. Each carries the deep privilege of having known a man whose loyalty was unwavering and whose heart was generous. He brought humor, steadiness, and genuine warmth to every space he entered. He will forever be missed.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Saint Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate Harbor, Massachusetts. Interment will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Meeting House Lane, Scituate. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike’s memory may be made to The Angel Fund for ALS Research in memory of Michael.
