Michael Corcoran Jr.

CORCORAN, Michael Jr. of Duxbury formerly of Scituate, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2011, at the age of 93. Michael is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Olive (Stansfield). Michael is a retired employee of New England Mutual Life Insurance Company. Michael was a WWII veteran and retired Lt. Col. of Mass. Air National Guard, 102nd TFW. He is survived by his children, Nancy L. Corcoran of Weymouth, Jane Sorensen of Duxbury and Michael Corcoran III and his wife Karen of W. Wareham. Brother of John F. Corcoran of Mukilteo, WA and the late Barbara Cowles. Michael was the proud grandfather of Amy Alawad and her husband Magid, William Sorensen and his wife Jacqueline, Michael T. and Matthew S. Corcoran. Great grandfather of Olivia, Isabelle, Evelyn and Mohammed. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Sunday, March 6th from 2PM-5PM . Funeral from the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd, Scituate on Monday at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary of the Nativity Church, Scituate at 10AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Michael can be made to Bay Path Resident Activity Fund, 308 Kings Town Way, Duxbury, MA 02332.
