David McElheny

David (Dave) McElheny was born January 3, 1913 in the Alliance Hotel, Alliance, NE to George and Hilda McElheny. He died March 7, 2006 at Emerald Court, Scottsbluff, NE. Dave attended school in North Platte, Bridgeport and graduated from high school in Alliance. He attended Chadron State and received his teaching certificate. He taught rural school at Alliance and Ellsworth. He later received his teaching a degree in horticulture at Colorado State. He taught photography at Lowery Air Field during WW II. After the war he owned Allis Chalmers Implement with his father in Alliance. Later he worked for various implement manufacturers and ended his working career with Farmers Home Administration in Scottsbluff. He married Anna Mae Garrelts at Yoder, WY December 21, 1958. After retirement the couple spent time traveling and settled in Oceanside, CA in 1984. Dave spent many hours at his favorite fishing holes. He also worked on mobile home park issues in Oceanside as well as raveling in the U. S. and abroad. Survivors include his wife, sisters Darlene and husband Russel Finch of Alliance, NE, Maxine Bauer and Shirley King of Omaha, many nieces, nephews and cousins in the Alliance area. No service will be held.
