Debra Ann Bowers

A beautiful and amazing mother, grandmother, and friend, Debra Ann (Stuart) Bowers, age 53 of Scottsbluff, Nebraska died Tuesday January 17, 2012 in her home while preparing herself for one of her most favored duties of going to work with her good friends and colleagues at FBG and WNCC. Debbie was born April 3, 1958 in Bridgeport Nebraska to Sammie Verl Stuart Sr. and Marjorie Alene Stuart. She is the youngest of four brothers and three sisters. Many of her favored childhood memories were of her spending time with her eldest sister Andra and trying to keep up with the rest of the siblings during their shenanigans. In the late 70’s she met Wilford Dwain Bowers who she married and had two beautiful daughters with. They were divorced in 1987 and remained friends. Although Deb did not finish high school in the traditional way, she did complete her GED after being away from school for 36 years and enrolled in college at WNCC. She had a renewed sense of the importance of education and encouraged everyone she knew to pursue their ambitions. She spent over 20 years working with the elderly in various skilled nursing facilities. During this time she was nominated and awarded employee of the month several times. She truly loved the work she did with those she served and their families. Debra is survived by Megan and Jeffry Macy and their sons Jack and Maddox; Staci and Tyson Gould and their daughters Email and Madi. Her siblings; Andrew Robinson, Andra Vest, William Stuart, Verl and Myrna Stuart, Karen Westerkamp, Steven and Sandy Stuart, and Connie Stuart. She is preceded in death by her parents and beloved dog Tico. A memorial service will be held Saturday January 21, 2012, at 2:00 p.m., at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Pastor Rick Parker officiating. A reception will follow. A memorial has been established to Vocational Rehabilitation.
