

Dorothy E. Fletcher, 87 of Scottsbluff, Nebraska passed away Saturday, March 05, 2011 at Scottsbluff. Her memorial service will be held on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Scottsbluff with Rev. Matt Fowler officiating. Cremation was held at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory. Memorials may be given to the Banner County Museum. Dorothy was born April 6, 1923 in Banner County, Nebraska to W.O. and Pinkie A. (Snyder) Brown. She graduated from Harrisburg High School in 1940. Then she attended Chadron State College. She taught school in a one room school house (Twin Tree) in Banner County. She married Robert Morby in 1944. In 1970, she returned to Chadron State College, graduating with honors two years later. Dorothy taught High School Home Economics and Art at Halsey, Halsey-Dunning and Minatare, Nebraska until retirement. She married Roy Fletcher in 1979. Survivors include her children: Carol (Larry) Anderson of Scottsbluff, Janet Morby of Cozad, Robert (Nadia) Morby of Riverside, CA and James (Sandy) Morby of Overland Park, KS; grandchildren: Christine (Carl) Mesecher of Lincoln, NE, Nick Anderson of Morrill, NE, McKayla Morby of Overland Park, KS, Kevin Morby of New York, NY, Veronica Yat of Las Vegas, NV and Clara Vera of Riverside, CA; 6 great grandchildren; brothers Harold (Ruthie) Brown of Harrisburg, NE and Gary (Kathy) Brown of Bakersfield, CA; sister-in-law Maxine Brown of Harrisburg, NE and a niece and numerous nephews. She was preceded in death by infant sister Mary Margaret, sister Helen Booker and brother William E. Brown.
