

Edna Ruth “Ruthie” Dick, 77, of Harrisburg, died Monday, November 26, 2007, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Her funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 30, 2007, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Father Ed Newbury officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to Good Shepherd of the Plains Episcopal Church, Banner County Fire and Rescue Department or the charity of the donor’s choice. Ruthie was born September 1, 1930, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Walter and Luella (Van Pelt) Schuemaker. She grew up in Harrisburg and graduated from Banner County High School in 1948. She married Robert D. Dick on September 10, 1949, in Gering. She served as Banner County Deputy Treasurer for a number of years alongside her husband, Bob. Ruthie was a founding member of the Good Shepherd of the Plains Episcopal Church and Harrisburg Episcopal Women’s Guild, serving as church treasurer for many years. She was a long-time member of the Eagles Auxiliary No. 2998, Phythian Sisters and Harrisburg Two O’clock Club. Ruthie was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. Being a life-long resident of Harrisburg, she had many close friends with whom she loved spending time. She was known for her wonderful cooking, and always looked forward to preparing favorite dishes for her family and friends. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a special joy and delight in her life. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Lou Ann Wineman and her husband Bill of Gering; son-in-law Joe Ramirez of Scottsbluff; grandchildren Brian Ramirez of Tucson, Arizona, Kenda Ramirez and her husband Ramy Ayad and great-granddaughter Ava of Jacksonville, Florida, Leslie Ramirez of Nashville, Tennessee, Michael Ramirez of Scottsbluff, Kenny Wineman and his wife Jill and great-granddaughter Emery of Gering, and Sarah Franzen and her husband Matt of Fremont; brother Robert Schuemaker and his wife Lucille of Littleton, Colorado; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins and special friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob; daughter, Dixie Ramirez; sister Juanita Reynolds; brothers, Cyrus Schuemaker, Glenn Schuemaker, Mike Schuemaker, and Jim Schuemaker; and her parents.
