

Elaine G. Stewart, 86, formerly of Cheyenne, Wyoming, died Thursday, May 24, 2012, at Heritage Estates in Gering, Nebraska. She was born April 29, 1926, in Kemmerer, Wyoming to Hilda and Pete Head of Frontier, Wyoming. She attended schools in Frontier, Kemmerer, and Rock Springs High School where she graduated in 1944. After high school graduation, she was employed by First Security Bank of Rock Springs where she met Thomas L. Stewart. They were married February 6, 1949 in Kansas City, Kansas. In 1953, they moved back to Wyoming where they remained with residences in Casper, Green River and Cheyenne. Mrs. Stewart spent time volunteering for many organizations including the American Red Cross, Girl Scouts, Campfire Girls, PTA, American Heart Association and Meals on Wheels. She was also Past President of the Green River Women’s Club. In addition, she enjoyed bowling, playing bridge, reading, cooking and sewing. She is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Marjorie and Charlie Simineo and Janice and Dave Read all of Cheyenne; one sister, Marilyn Roberts of Parker, Colorado; and four grandchildren, Rick Simineo, Renae (Simineo) Connolly, Timothy Read and Sarah (Read) Boomgarden; and two great grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Luke Head and Norman Head; and one sister, Margaret Fedrizzi. Cremation has taken place. Interment will be at a later date in the Oregon Trail Veteran’s Cemetery in Casper, Wyoming.
