

Francisco “Pancho” Gonzalez, 26 years old, passed away Friday, February 17, 2006 at the V.A. Hospice in Spokane, WA. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 25, 2006 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church at Scottsbluff with Father Jim Golka officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery at Scottsbluff with military honors provided by the Nebraska National Guard. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Friday, February 24, 2006 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel at Scottsbluff. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday, from 1:00 to 8:00 pm. Pancho Gonzalez was born February 1, 1980 to Teresa and Jose Gonzalez in Scottsbluff, NE. He attended Scottsbluff High School and graduated in 1998. Pancho was widely known and respected for his outstanding achievements in the Guadalupe Boxing Club. Some of his awards included 1996 National Silver Golden Gloves, 2003 Blue Gold Nationals, and other numerous honors and awards. After high school he proudly served his country in the Marines as a Corporal E4 for 4 years. In 2001 he married Holly Gonzalez and the same year they had a son, Julian Randall Gonzalez. He spent his last weeks surrounded by family and friends. Those closest to Pancho remember him for his outgoing personality, selfless character, but mostly for his dedication to his son Julian. Pancho was good at so many things in life but his best achievement was the love and stability he provided to his son. Survivors include his son Julian Randall Gonzalez, parents Teresa and Jose Gonzalez, bothers; Henry Ramirez, Armondo, and Jose Lius Gonzalez, sisters; Josephina, Elisia, and Gloria Gonzalez, and ex-wife and friend Holly Gonzalez.
