Gary Reichert

Gary Reichert, 45, of Mitchell, passed away May 11, 2007 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held on Thursday May 17th at11.00 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Scottsbluff, NE with the Pastor Nancy Tomlinson officiating. According to his wishes cremation has occurred. A memorial has been established to The Dream Foundation. Gary was born June 23, 1961, at Scottsbluff, NE to Fred and Sandra Reichert. He grew up in Scottsbluff and graduated from the Scottsbluff High School in 1979. He married Tami Reifschneider in 1982. He began work for Tallmon Jewelers in 1978 in Scottsbluff where he became a master Jeweler. In 1985 Gary his wife Tami and brother Fred opened Reichert Jewelers in Monument Mall and later Monument Jewelers. In 2002 Gary and wife Tami - opened Reichert’s of Ogallala and in 2004 G & T Reichert's Fine Jewelry and Gifts located downtown Scottsbluff - which Gary and Tami continue to operate up until the time of his death. Gary loved his craft and his customers and created thousands of custom designs for them over the years. Gary loved the outdoors – hunting and fishing with friends and scuba diving when he could. Spending time at his cabin at Lake McConaughy. He loved to travel and inspite of his illness he took many special trips in the last year. Gary will be sadly missed by his family and friends Survivors include his wife, Tami; Daughter Tiffany Muhr [Andy] Son, Kourtland of Scottsbluff – Mother Sandra Reichert, brothers, Fred and Terry Reichert of Scottsbluff and Sister Tammy Weigel [Bob] of Morrill and numerous nieces, nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Fred Reichert and father in law Henry H. Reifschneider.
