Harvey Leroy Bauer

Harvey Bauer, 92, of Scottsbluff died Monday, July 3, 2017 at Emerald Court. A day of celebration will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Grace Chapel in Scottsbluff, with Pastor Bruce Peterson officiating. Memorials may be made to Grace Chapel or to Hospice, 3701 Avenue B, Scottsbluff.

Harvey was born June 22, 1925 to Nicolas and Amelia (Burbach) Bauer. He attended school in Minatare and graduated in 1943. He was a farmer his adult life. In June 1945, he married Helen Martin. To this union two children were born, Karen Kay and Gary Michael. He was a member of Grace Chapel and served in many positions; he taught Sunday School, was a deacon, board member, and an elder.

Survivors include his wife Helen, daughter Karen Schenhols, son Gary (Marcia) Bauer, brother Willard of CO., Leonard of Rochester, NY, sister Mary Ann (Lynn) Heintz of Scottsbluff, sister-in-law Joan Bauer of Scottsbluff, 5 grandchildren Michael (Heather) Schenhols, Hilary (Matt) Klein of Waukee, IA, Bethany Redel of Columbia, MO, Emily (Michael) Weaver of Waukee, IA, Dr. Ashley Bauer of Ann Arbor, MI, 8 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother George, and sister-in-laws Esther Bauer and Virginia Bauer.
