Henrietta was born on June 15, 1939, in Minatare, Nebraska, to Henry and Elsie Hass. On September 15, 1963, she married Willard “Bill” Moore. They were blessed with three children: Bill, Bob, and Mindi.
For many years, Henrietta worked at Scottsbluff Sash and Door, the family business, where her dedication and work ethic shone through in everything she did. In the later years of her life, she found great joy working at Dollar General, where she served for 16 years. Her time there was more than just a job—Henrietta made it her ministry. She loved telling her customers about Jesus, praying with them, and forming deep and lasting friendships.
A lifelong learner, Henrietta was an active member of her women’s Bible study group and cherished the fellowship and wisdom shared there. Proud of her German heritage, she carried her roots with joy and strength throughout her life.
Henrietta’s greatest treasures, however, were her family. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with all her heart. Known for her playful spirit, she would happily get down on the floor to play for hours, creating memories her family will cherish forever. Her generous heart was evident in the way she gave—through gifts, time, and an abundance of love.
In her younger years, Henrietta enjoyed fishing and was especially proud of the time she caught a 42-pound king salmon.
Henrietta is survived by her beloved husband, Bill; her children, Bill (Stacy), Bob, and Mindi; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Adam) Sanders, Kimberly (Tanner) Jackson, Brock Moore, Hailey Hampton, and Emily Hampton; and great-grandchildren, Norah, Jude, Hadassah, and Evangeline Sanders. Her brother Richard (Joyce) Hass and sisters-in-law, Sharon Beery, Susie Swanson, and Mary Betelli and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Elsie Hass and her sister, Janet Barnhart.
Her life was a testimony of faith, kindness, and love—touching the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
