

Jack Scott Schick, 75, of Scottsbluff passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2014. A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 27 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel with inurnment to follow at Fairview Cemetery. The Nebraska Army National Guard will render Military Honors. A memorial has been established to The Festival of Hope. Jack was born April 27, 1938 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Conrad and Emma (Burbach) Schick. He received his early education in the Scottsbluff Public Schools and received his GED while serving in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1955 to 1958. Jack was a paratrooper with the 11th Airborne Division. He married Judy Kay Pontarolo, June 27, 1960 in Scottsbluff and the couple made their home in the Scottsbluff Area. He worked as an over the road truck driver for various companies and was also a pipe fitter/welder for a couple of local plumbing companies. He was a “Jack” of all trades. Jack enjoyed boating, fishing, working in his yard and garden and he never missed a good western movie. He was a member of Eagle Lodge # 2998. He is survived by his daughters, Colleen Hoff of Scottsbluff, and Jaci (Michael) Wickham of Denver, CO; grandsons, Jared Hoff of Scottsbluff, Jordan Hoff of Kearney, NE and Mason Gilmet of Centennial, CO; brother Tom Schick of Texas; sisters, Margaret Kisler of Idaho and Marlene Heinz of Colorado. Preceding him in death are the love of his life, Judy; daughter, Cindy Gilmet; his parents; brothers, Don, Leonard and Rowland Schick.
