John Dean Kehm

John Dean Kehm, age 86, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on August 5, 2025, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. He was born on May 5, 1939, in Melbeta, Nebraska, and lived a full and joyful life rooted in hard work, love, and laughter.

John was married to his beloved wife, Betty Kehm, for 67 wonderful years. Together, they raised two daughters, Jan Learned and Janae Hubka. He was a proud grandfather to Cody Learned and Joel Hubka, and a loving great-grandfather to Jasmine Learned.

John worked for the Scottsbluff Public School system as a maintenance man, where his skill and dedication were appreciated by all who knew him. He had a talent for fixing or building just about anything and took great pride in his work.

He had a warm personality and a great sense of humor. John could strike up a conversation with just about anyone and had a way of making everyone feel welcome. He loved the outdoors and spent many hours hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed bowling and cheering on his favorite football teams—the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Denver Broncos.

John will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, skilled handyman, and a truly fun and kind-hearted man. His legacy lives on in the memories he created and the lives he touched.

A visitation for John will be held Monday, August 11, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Home & Crematory, 3201 Ave. B, Scottsbluff, Nebraska 69361. A funeral service will occur Monday, August 11, 2025, at 1:00 PM, 3201 Ave. B, Scottsbluff, Nebraska 69361. A graveside will occur Monday, August 11, 2025, at Bayard City Cemetery, Bayard, Nebraska.
