Joy Carolyn McClure, 89, of Gering, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, July 12, 2015, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. At her request, cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions can be made to Scottsbluff Berean Bible Church, Camp Rock, or the Gideon’s. Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel is assisting the family. Joy was born January 26, 1926 at Fairbury, NE to Gomer and Ruth Jones.
Joy taught 13 years of kindergarten at Potter School. She then moved to Gering to care for her parents and worked at the Bible Book Store for many years.
Joy’s love for Jesus gave her a ready smile and encouragement for anyone she met. She will be missed by many whose lives she touched.
Joy is survived by her sister Marcia (Larry) Walrath; 2 daughters Cheryl (Allen) Griess and Mary (Jess) Harkins; 6 sons Ron, Mike, Robert (Lisa), Fred (Rosemary), Steve (Melanie) and Bill; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
