Katherine Dale Belford, aged 77, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026, in Bridgeport, Nebraska. Kathi was born on August 31,1948, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, to Leland and Shirley Keil. She received her early education in Scottsbluff, graduating from Scottsbluff High School in 1966, and later attended Western Nebraska Community College.
A caregiver by nature, Kathi found her true calling and most rewarding work as a Certified Nursing Assistant and home health provider. Whether she was caring for patients in their homes or serving her community as a medical receptionist and insurance liaison, her professional life was defined by her compassion and a deep-seated desire to help those in need.
Kathi’s greatest pride was her family. She was the beloved wife of Larry D. Belford for 58 years. During their marriage, they lived in Colorado and Oklahoma before returning to Nebraska in 1991 to settle in Bayard. Together, they built a life grounded in their deep faith and love for their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Kathi shared her faith openly with everyone she met, leaving a spiritual legacy that touched many lives.
As a mother, she was a constant source of support and wisdom. Her memory lives on through her children, Robert and Andrew, as well as her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren will especially cherish the countless hours spent with her at the piano, where she patiently taught them to play, fostering within them her own lifelong love and appreciation for music. Beyond her family and faith, Kathi enjoyed the simple pleasures of reading, playing golf, and tending to her garden.
Kathi was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Belford; her parents; and her brothers, Richard and Clifford Keil.
She is survived by her son, Robert (Casey) Belford; her grandchildren, Alicia (James) Dixon, Montana Belford, Shae (Cody) Brewer, Colton (Tenae) Belford, and Keegan (Isaiah) Flores; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her son, Andrew Belford; her grandchildren, Charles (Barb) Belford, Malachi Belford, Elizabeth Belford, and August Belford; five great-grandchildren; her sister, Julie (Andrew) Bucy; brothers-in-law Clifford Belford and Jerry Belford; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private family service to honor Kathi’s life will be held at a later date. In the meantime, the family welcomes your memories and stories; online condolences may be shared at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel, or cards may be sent to the family at 213 E Heath St, Rawlins, WY 82301.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." — Proverbs 3:5-6
"May you look at the garden and see her there, In the bloom of the rose and the cardinal’s prayer; In the song of the keys and the light of the sun, her music plays on, for her race was well run."
