Larry Lyle Mikkelson

Larry Lyle Mikkelson, 65, of Gering, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at his home. A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel with Pastor Lauren Ekdahl officiating. Cremation and inurnment will be at Sunset Memorial Park and Crematory. Larry was born August 15, 1944 in Oshkosh, NE to Alfred and Daisy (Learned) Mikkelson. He married Marlene Ruppert on November 10, 1961 and to this union, four children were born. Larry was a local entrepreneur and retiree of Western Sugar. Larry loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors include his wife: Marlene; daughters: Barbara (Michael) Kyle, Springfield, MO, and Jackie (Ken) Greenman, Scottsbluff, NE; son: Eric (Diane) Mikkelson, Lincoln, NE; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers: Merlin (Shelby) Mikkelson, Miltonvale, KS, and Wayne (Diann) Mikkelson, Russellville, Ark; sisters: Devita (Ray) Beals, Miltonvale, KS, Wanda (Bernie) Phipps, Branson, MO, Linda (Bill) Busch, Omaha, NE and Brenda (Larry) Messina, Stuart, FL; sisters-in-law: Mia Jerry) Schnell and LaVonne Frakes and numerous, nieces, nephews, great nephews and great nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Velva Childs, son Lyle Dean Mikkelson,and in laws Ben and Faye Ruppert.
