

Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Pastor Robert Rose officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1-7 p.m. at the chapel. Memorials may be given to the Rose Medical Center Intensive Care Unit in Denver, in care of Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel, 3201 Avenue B, Scottsbluff, NE 69361. Laura Lee was born February 12, 1958 at Scottsbluff, Nebraska, the oldest daughter of Harvey Gene and Shirley Jane (Hort) Kerbel. Laura Lee attended school at Morrill Public School from K-12, graduating as Valedictorian of her Class in 1976. She attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, where she received her RN degree in Nursing and started her nursing career in Omaha then returned to Scottsbluff, working at West Nebraska General Hospital in different departments. Her passion in critical infant care prompted her move to Colorado for a career in the Neonatal ICU Department. At the time of her passing, she was recognized for 25 years in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Rose Medical Center in Denver, Colorado.
Laura was an extremely compassionate and caring individual, giving her time and resources to make a difference in the lives and needs of others. Laura enjoyed spending time with her family, reading books, listening to gospel music and caring for her animals. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and co-workers.
Laura Lee is survived by her mother Shirely Jane Kerbel and her brother Scott David Kerbel of Morrill; other survivors include Roderick and Connie Hort and their families of Torrington, WY, Ernest Eugene and Carol Hort and their families of Torrington, WY and Axtell, NE, Larry and Carol Kerbel and their families of Garland and Heath, Texas, Don and Becky Kerbel and their families of Scottsbluff, and a friend of Laura Lee and Valerie Rae: Bev Martin of Greeley, CO.
Laura Lee was preceded in death by her father Harvey Gene Kerbel, sister Valerie Rae Kerbel, grandparents Adam and Mollie Kerbel and Ernest J. and Frieda Hort. She also lost her pets Chex and Pipin, but still had Zeva for her company.
We will miss Laura Lee and all our loved ones until we meet in Heaven someday.
