

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Oshkosh with Fr. Mike McDonald officiating. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Cemetery in Oshkosh. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel .
Memorials have been established to the Scotts Bluff Humane Society. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.dugankramer.com.
Marcia was born on October 27, 1938 to Jim and Arlene (Rieck)Huwaldt at Lewellen, NE. She received her early education at Lewellen, Oshkosh and Wheatland, Wyoming and graduated from Garden County High School in Oshkosh.
She married Larry L. Koeppen on July 6, 1957 in Oshkosh and to this union two sons were born Scott Koeppen and Brad Koeppen. In the early years of her marriage, Marcia worked for Dr. A.B. Albee and Eugene Hynes, Attorney. Later she served as Deputy County Assessor for Garden and Scotts Bluff County. She enjoyed working with Real Estate as a Realtor and Assessor.
Marcia most enjoyed her family and grandchildren and hosting many family Thanksgiving celebrations. She also enjoyed gardening, dancing and music.
Marcia was a long time member of the St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church and was a member of the County Officials Association of Nebraska.
She is survived by her son Scott Koeppen of Oshkosh and his children, Gyhl (Tonya) of Cambridge, NE, Casey and Kelly both of Jefferson City, CO; her son Brad (Cristi) Koeppen of Scottsbluff and their children Skiy (Justin) Martin of Laramie, WY, Kaylee Koeppen, and Lacy Koeppen both of Scottsbluff; four great grandchildren, Korie, Tate and Kylie Koeppen all of Cambridge, NE and Brycen Martin of Laramie, WY; mother Arlene Huwaldt of Scottsbluff; sisters Sandy (Jim) McGinley of Oshkosh and Candace Southwick of Orlando, Fl; and brother- in-law Vern (Dee) Koeppen of Overland Park, Kansas and numerous nieces, nephews and very special friend Kathi Kendall of Jefferson, Colorado
She was preceded in death by her husband Larry, father Jim Huwaldt and Helen and August Koeppen.
