Marian J Heilbrun

A memorial service will be held at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Home & Crematory in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, on February 27, 2026, at 10:00 am. with Mike Schaaf officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Legacy of the Plains Museum.

Marian left a treasure trove of wonderful memories to her family and friends. She was vivacious woman filled with an "I Can Do That" attitude. She met very few hobbies she couldn't easily master. Antique collecting and refinishing, rattlesnake hunting, cake decorating, genealogy and making and collecting porcelain dolls are but a few of the activities she enjoyed. She was truly gifted and would take on anything if it brought joy to her family.

Marian was born June 8, 1931, to Peter and Katharine (Becker) Keller. She took on the responsibility of helping her family at an early age which reflected on her throughout her life. She married Walter Heilbrun on May 8, 1949, in Torrington, Wyoming. They would make their home south of Gering where they enjoyed their family. Farming and hard work filled their days nights, however Marian always found time to provide fun for her children. As Marian aged her new hobby was undoubtedly becoming the best grandma ever. She could be a handful and would often tease the grandkids saying her middle initial "J" was for jerk, leaving us all in laughter. She truly was a rarity, and we are so very fortunate to have had her in our lives.

Survivors include sons Walter Jr (June) of Bushton, KS, Dennis (Alice) of Torrington, WY, Tom (Ranae) of Greeley, CO, Alan (Linda) of Gering and daughter Connie Blome of Montrose, CO; 20 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 17 great great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents and siblings Gloria Relka, Roger Keller and Harvey Keller. Husband Walter, infant son Terry, son Gary, daughter in law Mildred Heilbrun, son in law Greg Blome and grand daughter Mindi Heilbrun.
