

Her memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Chris Kester Beyer officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the church or to Prairie Haven Hospice. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.dugankramer.com. Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mary was born on January 25, 1921 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Alex and Katherine (Steinbrecher) Behm. She graduated from Minatare High School in 1938. She was united in marriage to Dorwin E. Collins on September 21, 1940 in Scottsbluff and they made their home in the valley most of their married life.
Mary worked at various jobs, her last place of employment was at the West Nebraska Veterans Home, retiring in 1986.
Mary enjoyed working at the Scotts Bluff County Fair, where she had various exhibits entered baked goods, can goods, quilts and embroidery items and she would get 1st place many times.
She enjoyed sewing, traveling to various places, an avid Dodgers fan and cooking. She will be sadly missed for her peanut brittle.
She was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church, Red Hat Hooters and Extension Club in Gering.
Survivors include her daughters Kathy Johnson and Jean Collins of Gering; grandsons Thomas Johnson and Greg Johnson, Jr. and granddaughter Christy (Keith) Fulk; great grandchildren Christopher Fulk, Tyler Fulk and Jacob Johnson; brother Bob (Gayle) Behm of Loveland, CO and brother-in-law Roger Leafgreen of Scottsbluff and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother and sister-in-law Albert and Jean Behm and sister and brother-in-law Hedy and Leo Eberhardt and sister Lenora Leafgreen.
