Oscar Omar Hernandez Salinas

Oscar Omar Hernandez Salinas, 49, of Gering passed away at Regional West Medical Center, June 14, 2012. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00p.m., Tuesday, June 19 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Vince Parsons officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel from 1:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 18 with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Memorials are to be made to the family. Oscar was born June 22, 1962 in Lampazos, N.L., Mexico to Juan Hernandez and Irma Garza. He married Mary Campos, August 7, 1982 in Mexico. They made their home in the Gering area. Oscar was a self-employeed cement contractor. Oscar will be remembered as the life of the party. He loved spending time with his grandkids. He enjoyed fishing and dancing. He liked to help others out with anything they needed. Oscar is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Oscar (Jessica) Hernandez Jr., Genevieve Hernandez(Eddy) Gonzalez, Jesus Hernandez, and Jose Hernandez; grandchildren, Eddyverto Methius and Zoe Leigh Gonzalez and Brooklynn Ann Nash; mother, Irma Garza Salinas; siblings, Juan Hernandez, Aurelio (Juany) Hernandez and Irma (Santos) Acosta; and numerous nieces and nephews. Oscar is preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
