Raymond E Conrad

Raymond Eugene Conrad, 92, of Mitchell, Nebraska passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026, with his daughter and son by his side. There will be a graveside service on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 1pm at Sunset Memorial Park. Fond memories, photos and condolences may be left at www.dugankramer.com. Raymond was born December 29, 1933, in a dirt floor shack home in Scottsbluff, NE. As he was recalling his memories with his granddaughter in his last months, he stated “I have lived quite the life, haven’t I!?” That he did! Raymond was a 1st generation American and truly lived the American dream that his grandfather hoped for when he moved his family to the United States.

Raymond married Joyce Elaine Enninga on January 23, 1953. They met at a polka dance his friend all but dragged him too. To Raymond, Joyce was the prettiest girl at the dance. Together they raised their four children, Cindy, Terry, Timothy, and Tom and were blessed with seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Raymond was a survivor of bone cancer in 1958. Though he lost his right arm to bone cancer he did not let that hold him back. He went to college at UNL and got his degree in accounting and was at the top of his class. During school he went through many interviews with no offers because of the cancer and what the companies would have to offer him insurance. Finally, the VA came and offered him a job and moved him around the country auditing programs for the government. He joined a stock club/group of men from work to make friends, and it turned into quite the hobby for him.

Throughout it all his love and admiration for his wife Joyce grew and grew. He just knew that he was the luckiest man out there with her by his side. With his faith in Christ, he knew that he would be whole again dancing with the prettiest girl in heaven and oh how ready he was to see her again.

He is survived by his children, Cindy Conrad, Terry (Lisa) Conrad, Tim (Maribeth) Conrad, and Tom (Chris) Conrad and well as his grandchildren, Brooke (Tyler) Feil, Becky Conrad, Casey Conrad, Peter (Liz) Conrad, Joey (McKayla) Conrad, Jack Conrad, and Katherine (Matt) Bellisle and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife Joyce (Enninga) Conrad, his parents Pete and Katherine (Heinrich) Conrad, and his sister Helen Conrad. As well as many grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
