Interment will be Friday, October 10, 2025, at 1:30 pm at the Angora cemetery, Angora, Nebraska with Pastor John Adams officiating. The Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 pm at the Dugan-Kramer Chapel, Avenue B, Scottsbluff, Nebraska. The youngest of seven children, Dick was born to Floyd and Velma (Jensen) Duncan on January 17, 1941.
He graduated from Morrill Highschool, as did both his sons.
Dick operated heavy equipment for Simon Construction building highways near Seward, Nebraska and Buffalo, Wyoming. After marrying Anita Burry on October 18, 1964, they made their home in Morrill, Nebraska and raised two sons he was very proud of.
He worked for John R. Jirdon Industries for 22 years. He retired from the Morrill school system as the maintenance and transportation supervisor after 18 years.
He spent many evenings and weekends helping Anita with her drapery business installing draperies and window coverings.
Dick was a member of Morrill Jaycees, AWANA leader and a Scout Leader. His passion was serving the Lord by attending church and greeting everyone with a smile and a handshake.
Dick was a gentle, caring, giving man and cultivated many relationships with coworkers that remained life-long friends.
Dick is survived by his wife, Anita; son, Floyd (Cindy) Duncan, granddaughter McKenzi Duncan; son, Jim (Krystal) Duncan, grandson, Josh Duncan, great-grandchildren, Jamison, Olivia and Oliver; granddaughter, Jordyn (Riley) Chandler, great-grandchildren Lawrence and Emelia; granddaughter Katie (Andrew) Tellus; brother, Ken Duncan; sister, Myrna Stuckert; and many nieces and nephews he adored.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Don Duncan, Fred Duncan; sisters, Gayle Barton and June Prince; granddaughter, Morgan Duncan; mother and father-in-law, Walter and Eunice Burry; sister-in-law, Donna Johnson.
