Rick Weimer, 48, of Scottsbluff, died Friday, September 9, 2011, at Golden Living Center in Scottsbluff. His funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 16, 2011, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Pastor Ed Hunzeker officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park in Scottsbluff. Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel. A memorial has been established to Panhandle Humane Society. Rick was born April 25, 1963, at Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Ed and Darlene (Rusch) Weimer. Rick grew up in Mitchell and graduated from the Mitchell High School in 1981. He then attended Kearney State College and remained living in Kearney until returning to Scottsbluff in 2009. At Kearney he was employed at Baldwin Filters for many years. Rick enjoyed sports, playing baseball and golf, and had a special connection and love for animals. Survivors include his children Alexis, Brittany, and Derrick and grandchildren, Ryan and Jade all of Kearney; his father Ed, brother Kelly, and sister Roni all of Scottsbluff. Rick was preceded in death by his mother Darlene and brother Mike.
