

Roberta J. Poole, 77, of Mitchell, died Thursday, January 31, 2008, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Her memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 4, 2008, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Allen Dunn officiating. Private family interment will be in the East Lawn Cemetery at Minatare. A memorial has been established to Alzheimer’s Association. Roberta Jean Poole was born September 23, 1930, at Crawford, Nebraska to Mark and Evelyn (Johnson) Henderson. She grew up in Scottsbluff where she graduated from high school. On September 3, 1950, she married Rodger Poole. She worked at a number of jobs over the years, her favorite being her 20 years employed at Carr-Trumbull Lumber Company. They lived in Scottsbluff, Huron, South Dakota and Torrington, Wyoming returning to Scottsbluff in 2006. In 2007, they moved to the Mitchell Care Center. She loved baking cookies, canning and sewing. She had her own ford tractor and won slow tractor race at the South Dakota State Fair. Through out her married life she was active in Independent Christian Churches in the Scottsbluff area. Roberta is survived by her husband, Rodger Poole of Mitchell; children, Sheila (Allen) Dunn of Casper, Wyoming, Rod (Risee) Poole of New Market, Iowa and Glenda Osberg of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill (Charlene) Henderson of Texas, Sid (Peg) Henderson of Scottsbluff and Steve (Anna) Henderson of Florida; and a large extended family. Preceding her in death were her grandparents, her parents and son-in-law, Doug Osberg.
