Roy E. Rein

Roy E. Rein, 62, of Gering, died Saturday, May 27th, 2006 at Regional West Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am, Thursday, June 1st at Central Church of Christ in Gering with Pastor Howard Roseberry officiating. At the family’s request, cremation will take place after the service. Roy was born August 5, 1943 in Scottsbluff to George and Norma (Garman) Rein. He graduated from Gering High School in 1963 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1963-1967. He married Janet Peterson on September 15, 1972. The family made their home in Gering until 1996. Roy was a member of the Gering Central Church of Christ. He was a very devoted father and grandfather and an avid Husker fan. He loved to go fishing, watch his daughter play softball, bowl and on occasion, visit the local casinos. Survivors include his wife Jan Rein: brother Lonnie (Koni) Rein and their children Kyle and Derek Rein: children: Vonnie (Brian) Warren, Mike (Liz) Peterson, Kris (Shawn) Hopkins, Troy Taylor, Heidi Morrison; grandchildren: Taylor and Dilyn Warren; Connor, Jordan and Stephani Peterson; Jordan and Gage Taylor, Chelsey Morrison; Melissa, Josh, Zach and Samantha Serda; great-grandchild Bradyn Todd and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Roy was preceded in death by his mother, father and two brothers. He will be greatly missed by all and forever in our hearts.
