

Twila M. Tilton, 85, of Minatare died Saturday Oct 4, 2008, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Oct 8 at 10:00 am at Dugan Kramer Chapel, with Pastor Gail Madson officiating. Interment will be at the Minatare East Lawn Cemetery. Friends who wish may call at Dugan Kramer Chapel in Scottsbluff Tuesday from 9:00am – 8:00pm and at the funeral on Wednesday. Twila was born May 2, 1923 in Bayard to Earl and Ressie Carey. She grew up and received her formal education in Bayard, graduating in 1941. On November 25, 1942, Twila married Harold Tilton in Ashland, NE. Twila worked in the cafeteria for Highland school, at Alexander’s Supermarket in Scottsbluff and at Chimney Rock Villa in Bayard as a certified cook from where she retired. Twila was active in American Legion Auxiliary, War Dad’s Auxiliary, Quarter Century Club, and the ladies Bible Study group of Church of Christ of Minatare. She was also a 50 year member of the Acme Club. She enjoyed reading, gardening and her crafts. Twila will be remembered as being a kind loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her son Richard (Linda) Tilton of Bayard, daughters Claudia Parker, Barbara (Dennis) Gorr of Scottsbluff and Sandra Tilton of Houston TX. Granddaughters Stacy ( Joel) Bean of Kearney; Missy (Mike) Ellis of Colcord, OK and Tracy (Clark) Hottel of Kimball, NE. Grandsons, Jeff (Trisha) Parker of Grand Junction CO and Mathew (Jessica) Gorr of Longmont, CO, 5 great grandsons and 4 great granddaughters. Sisters-in-law Opal Diffendaffer and Eleanor Tilton both of Scottsbluff and two nephews and two nieces. Twila was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister Judy Olson.
