

Victor “Vic” Hoff, age 92, of Scottsbluff, passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 at Golden Living Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Monument Bible Church with Pastor Jake Roberts and Pastor Wayne Mundell officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday, from 1-7 P.M. at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be given to the Monument Bible Church. Victor Hoff was born December 3, 1922 at Haig to parents Conrad and Amelia (Wyrens) Hoff.
He was sprinkled as an infant, confirmed at 15 and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior in September 1948. He was a charter member of the Church at Bryant (West Way), where he served as a Deacon for several years. He has been a member of Monument Bible Church since March 2009.
Vic started farming after 8th Grade graduation with parents and brothers near Bayard. He married Bonnie Provance, March 14, 1947 at Gering. They farmed in Gering Valley before purchasing a farm in the Sunflower area. After selling the farm in 1973, Vic did custom farming. He later went to work for Dill Implement for several years as a mechanic. Vic worked for Coop Fertilizer and Schafer Elevator after he received his certification in chemicals. He then went to work at Lake Alice School as a bus driver, custodian, and helper in the cafeteria for 20 years. Vic and Bonnie did soup suppers for Lake Alice School and Scottsbluff Trap Club and they had quite a reputation not only for their soups but also their homemade rye, cinnamon and french breads. Vic then worked for McDonald’s doing maintenance for 7 years, retiring in 2008.
Vic and Bonnie met as Vic was preparing to go to Sturgis with his new 1946 Harley Motorcycle. They traveled by motorcycle through 31 states plus Canada and Mexico for 55 years of their married life. They were members of various motorcycle clubs including Valley Riders, Y’all Come, International Brotherhood of Motorcycle Campers, and Christian-Riding for the Son. They met many interesting people and have friends across the USA because of these clubs. Vic also did quite well at racing motorcycles on a short track.
Vic was known for his Oliver 2255 Tractor at fairs and other tractor pulls. His Oliver Pulling Team brought home many of trophies, most of which were 1st place. His team consisted of daughters, son-in-law and of course Bonnie. Vic excelled at mini tractor pulls as well in which he put small motors into toy tractors. He had a shelf full of trophies for his accomplishments.
Vic is survived by his wife Bonnie of nearly 68 years; daughters Judi (Steve) Hiegel of Mitchell, Vicki (Doug) Keener of Mitchell, Cheri (Allen) Splichal of Scottsbluff; grandchildren Deana (John) French of Fort Worth, TX, Trevor (Christina) Hiegel of Laramie, WY, Dayna (Troy) Dondelinger of Gering, Allison Splichal (significant other, Kevin Uglow) of Grand Island, Dustan (Michelle) Keener of Mitchell, Chase Splichal of Wichita, KS; great-grandchildren Tyler, Kaitlyn and Brenden Keener of Mitchell, and Liam French of Fort Worth, TX; Brother-in-law Larry (Thelma) Provance of Chadron; and several nieces and nephews.
Vic was preceded in death by his infant daughter Patti, parents, five brothers, four sisters and sister-in-law Sharon Guthrie.
