Wanda Lea Johnston, 53, of Gering, died Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Her memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 19, 2011, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Pastor John Adams officiating. Cremation was at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Inurnment will follow at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering. A memorial has been established to Prairie Haven Hospice. Wanda was born February 20, 1958, at Deadwood, South Dakota to Raymond and Joyce (Whiden) Johnston. She moved to Scottsbluff area in 1981. She was best known for her smiling face at the Gering Coffee Shop where she worked with her parents. Survivors include her sisters, Tana Venturino, Brenda (Clancey) Trump and Patricia (Jay) Weitzel all of Scottsbluff; brothers, Daniel (Marcia) Johnston of Sturgis, South Dakota and David (Virginia) Johnston Colorado Springs, Colorado, step-sister, Kelly Ann Colgan of Roanoke, VA, 23 nieces and nephews; and 18 great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Johnston, Joyce Carter, and Neil Carter.
