

William E. Britton, 73 of Melbeta, Nebraska died Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at the Morrill County Community Hospital in Bridgeport. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 7, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel with Pastor Daryl Potts officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park with military honors provided by the Nebraska National Guard. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the chapel. William was born on May 10, 1934 in Friend, Nebraska, where he attended school. He entered the United State Army on January 22, 1957 and was honorable discharge on April 8, 1958. He returned to Kimball, Nebraska, where he married Wilma Jean Bauer on July 24, 1962 and six children were born to this union. He worked in the oil fields for many years moving to Bridgeport in 1972 to farm. Later he worked at Gary’s Implement. William liked to fish and mostly putzing around and putting things back together. Survivors include his wife Jean of Melbeta; daughters Cindy(Tom) Little of Adams, Nebraska, Belinda Ingersoll of Bridgeport, Bonnie Coulter of Minatare and Tammie (Tom) Kleich of Gering; son Kevin Britton of McGrew; 12 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter and a half sister, Mae Minton.
