Alma Gay Williams, of Royse City, Texas, passed away on April 11, 2026, in Rockwall, Texas. She will always be remembered as a loving woman, sister, mother, aunt, and “Mema” to all who knew and loved her.
She was born on January 19, 1943, in Aubrey, Texas, to James Oliver Mundie and Nancy Irene Mundie.
Alma had a kind word for everyone, a helping hand for those in need, and a heart full of love. Anyone who met her felt welcomed and deeply cared for. She walked faithfully with God and knew Jesus as her Lord and Savior, planting seeds of joy, love, and His word wherever she went. She embraced Christ’s living word and remained a lifelong student of His grace.
To be near Alma was to feel comfort, warmth, and the light of her smile. She found great joy in quilting, and those who received one of her quilts will forever feel the embrace of a hug she lovingly stitched into every piece. She had a special gift for creating beauty from whatever she had on hand.
Alma cooked with love as her main ingredient, which is why no recipe will ever taste quite the same without her. Her family was her heart, and she will always remain the glue that holds them together.
She is survived by her sister, Sandra Kay James (Dennis James); her daughters, Rhonda Frantz (Leland Frantz) and Nancy Gaylene Baker (David Baker); her grandchildren, Rose Frantz, David Tarver (Ciara Tarver), Joshua Baker (Danyale Baker), Nancy White (Noah White), and Samantha Jamieson (Vinson Jamieson); and her many great-grandchildren: Zane, Landen, Scarlett, Jacob, Skyler, Julianna, Aiden, McKenzie, Bentley, Jaxon, Lilly, Grace, Ryder, Thatcher, and Amiyra.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Oliver Mundie and Nancy Irene Mundie; her siblings, Charles Edward Mundie (Millie), James Loyal Mundie (Nita), and Etta Lorea Lunsford; and her beloved husband, Clovis James Williams.
Alma’s legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
The visitation will be held from 6 – 8 o’clock p.m. on Friday April 17th at the funeral home. The Funeral Service will be held Saturday April 18th at 10 am at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel.
