She was born on January 1, 1950, to Virginia (Huston) and Elbert Lewis. Known as “Kitten” as a baby—because her cries sounded like a tiny kitten—she grew up in Treece, Kansas, alongside 12 siblings before moving to Texas during her teenage years. Beverly later married Lester A. Jones, and together they had two children, Randy Lee Jones and Melissa Ann Jones-Bourland.
As a stay-at-home mother, Beverly was a force to be reckoned with. Life was not always easy, but she never failed to put her children first. Though her small stature might have surprised some, she had a big personality and an unexpected love for horror movies—especially zombie films. Beverly was also a devoted cat lover who adopted many feline companions throughout her life. Her family finds comfort in knowing that so many beloved pets are waiting to welcome her in heaven.
Beverly was preceded in death by many loved ones. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Bourland of Seagoville; her granddaughter, Shelby McDaniel and husband Will of Waxahachie, Texas; her grandson, Dustin Jones and wife Angela of Milford, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Anastasia and Alester; and two sisters, Lola Wright and Virginia Goforth of Cherryvale, Kansas.
Momma, Mimi—this may be the end of your time with us, but know that you helped raise two strong women and one fun-loving grandson who will miss you dearly. It is time for you to find peace and happiness in heaven, because you, more than anyone, deserve it.
We love you to the moon and back.
Your babies.
