Billy Vanoie Mitchell

Billy Vanoie Mitchell 86, passed away from this earthly life and entered his heavenly home on July 10, 2021. Bill was born on March 5, 1935, in Red Oak, Oklahoma to Dennis Mitchell and Danna “Nonnie” Gritts. Bill graduated in 1953 and then joined the army where he served 2 years, before marrying Peggy in 1957. He was a master carpenter for years before becoming employed at St. Mark’s School of Texas where he retired after 15+ years. Bill was ornery and loved to aggravate. He had a passion for square dancing and going to bluegrass music festivals as well as singing and picking on his guitar. He also enjoyed playing horseshoes, pool, poker, and bowling. Bill was a man of many talents, he could make anything, but what he enjoyed the most was spending time with his grandchildren and family.

Bill is preceded in death by his father Dennis Mitchell, mother Danna “Nonnie” Gritts, Wife of 52 years Peggy, daughter Danna, sons Steve, Roy, Coy, Jessie, daughter in laws Rhonda and Stephanie, brothers John, Jim, Frank, and Tom.

He is survived by his son Clay Mitchell and wife Judy, brother Jack Mitchell and wife Judy, daughter in laws Shelia, Shelley, Pam and Mindy. Grandchildren: Brad, Van, Ray, Stephanie, Ginger, Rachel, Laycee, Katie, Harley, Holley, Megan, Nicole, Christin, Krystal, and Amanda. Great grandchildren: Vanessa, Dustin, Chase, Jordan, Reagan, Vanoie, Avangaline, Anabelle, Austin, Madison, Grayson, Kamie, Kashton, Kynleigh, Maycee, Alivia, Jackson, Kiari, Riley, Nevaeh, Natalie, Brooklyn, Olivia, Mitchell, Nathaniel, and Bryce as well as 6 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
