Danny Ray Baker, age 75, entered into rest on May 7, 2025 in Mabank, Texas. He entered into life on July 30, 1949 in Kaufman, Texas, to Billy Gene and Vivian Baker. Danny was raised in Crandall, Texas and graduated from Crandall High School. He went on to enlist in the Reserves.
In 1969 he married Linda Houston Baker and the couple had two children. Danny was the CEO of Bakers Contracting Incorporated where he worked for more than 38 years.
In his spare time, Danny enjoyed being an elder and member of the Crandall Church of Christ, spending time with his family and traveling with friends. He enjoyed working outside on the farm, and especially adored running with his friends.
His family and friends will always remember him as a christian, a father, a Papa, and a friend to all.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Billy Gene and Vivian Fowler Baker; father and mother in law, Tal and Jennie Bell Houston; brother, Rudy Gene Baker; and many brothers and sisters in law.
Danny is survived by: his loving wife of 56 years, Linda Baker; daughters, Dionne Baker-Johnston and husband Barney of Mabank, Texas, and DeAnn Baker of Crandall, Texas; grandchildren, Blake and Erica Mathis of Crandall, Texas, Brook Mathis and fiance Andi Stainback of Flint, Texas, Keilee Haggard of Crandall, Texas, and Maranda Bell of Comanche, Texas; great-grandchildren, McKenna Gayle Mathis, Waylon Ray Mathis (Danny Baker's namesake), Avery Stainback, and Lillian Bell; sister, Kim Baker and David Marsh of Smithville, Texas; and numerous extended family members.
