Janie V Burnett

Janie Burnett, of Crandall, Tx., passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023, in Dallas, Tx. She succumbed to cancer. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, sister, aunt, etc., to all that knew and loved her. She was born on May 15, 1936, in Caldwell, Tx. to Robert and Annie Vavra.

She worked for Texas Oncology at Baylor Dallas until she retired. Mother loved to sew, do crosswords, dance, music, and read; mostly Nora Roberts novels. She grew up in Forney, Tx, and went to school there. She always had a sense of humor and a smile. We all knew that when we called her, we would need to allow at least an hour due to her innate ability to chit-chat. She was the last of her siblings to pass and made sure we knew all the stories so we can ensure they were passed on.

Mother is survived by her sons Frank Hickson children Sara and Julia, and Nick DeAngelo spouse Angela and children Sarah and Matt; daughters Jeanine Grimmet children Brandi Hickson, Shana Cotton her sons Jesse Cotton and Dakota Stewart, and son Adam Faulkner; daughter Tammy Ostrander spouse Mark and their children Meredith Ferrell spouse Joey and son Maddox, son Schuyler spouse Leah and children Mason and Madison, daughter Lindy spouse Travis and daughter Robbie, son Logan, son Wyatt; and daughter Tracey Holy spouse Joey and children Devon and Brandon spouse Katie son Ethan, son Garrett spouse Kayleigh and daughter Harper. She has numerous nieces and nephews of whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by both her parents, her husband Max Burnett, her sisters Lilly Moore Baker, Margaret Tucker, and Patsy Moye; brothers Mickey Vavra, BJ Vavra, and Searcy Vavra; her sons Bradford and Tommy Hickson.

The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 on February 4 at Roselawn Funeral Home, 1000 S. Hwy 175, Seagoville, Tx. A gathering at the Ostrander's will follow; please feel free to stop by.
