Lawrence Langwell passed away peacefully at his home on May 18, 2026, in Combine, Texas, surrounded by his loved ones. He always referred to the "Family Compound" as his little piece of heaven. He will always be remembered as a loving husband to his wife Glenda for 70 years, a remarkable father, and an incredible grandfather.
Lawrence honorably served in the U.S. Naval Reserves from 1955-1963 and was a proud patriot that loved his country immensely. He was very proud of his grandsons and great-grandson that served or are currently serving in the U.S. Army and U.S. Marines.
There was nothing more important to Lawrence than his family. He and his wife instilled strong values with immense love and devotion to their three children. Those traits have been carried down through even the newest generations of his family, leaving an incredible legacy for years to come.
Lawrence was born on February 20, 1937, to Johnnie Langwell and his mother Muriel Langwell. He was raised in Perryton, Texas. Lawrence graduated from Pampa High School, and while living in Pampa, Texas he met his "beautiful bride" Glenda. They were married on June 9, 1956. This amazing couple are parents to Debbie Weiss, Robert Langwell, and Billy Langwell, and Melissa Langwell (whom they considered their own daughter, though she entered the family by marriage).
Lawrence is survived by his beloved wife Glenda; his children Debbie Weiss, Robert Langwell, and Billy Langwell; his daughter-in-law, Melissa Langwell and two sons-in-law, Floyd Weiss, and Antonio Lara; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews that he loved sincerely, as well as many other relatives and friends.
Lawrence was predeceased by his parents, Johnnie Langwell and his mother Muriel Langwell; and his three brothers, J.B. Langwell, Eddie Dean Langwell, and Gary Don Langwell.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Peter O’Donnell Jr. Brain Institute or another charitable organization in Lawrence’s name.
