Martha Ann Anderson died peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, October 17, 2019 in Forney, Texas. She was the youngest child born to A.I. and Martha E Browning in Van, Texas on Thursday, April 6, 1939. Martha was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was affectionately known as Granny. Her nieces and nephews lovingly referred to her as “Aunt Sissy.”
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Travis and Earl; sisters Mary and Barbara; and her loving husband of fifty three years, Charles W Anderson. She is survived by son, Geary Anderson and wife Cherlyn of Mesquite, daughter Teresa Puyear and husband Eddie of Forney, daughter Beverly Brandenburg and husband Daniel of Mesquite, and a legacy of 10 grandchildren; Jaime Littlejohn, Charlie Anderson, Geary Anderson Jr., Julie Ashton, Alicia Anderson, Kristy Carter, Corey Anderson, Kim Chauvin, Dana Miller and Kevin Brandenburg; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She attended Wilmer Hutchins High School. Martha met and married the love of her life at the age of fifteen. Together they built a beautiful life and home filled with love and laughter on Muskogee Drive in Dallas, Texas. She was the matriarch of her family and her home was always warm and welcoming. Martha retired from Crum & Forester Insurance Company in 1991. She enjoyed spending time at their lake house on Lake Palestine, traveling, playing online poker and visiting with family and friends. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
