Mary Ann Chapman-Phelps

Mary Ann was born June 24, 1932, to Loving parents, Roy and Syble Lee of Alba, Texas. She was the fourth of five daughters that were known as the Lee sisters. She graduated from Alba High School and later met and married Otis Chapman in 1950. They were parents to five sons and one daughter and were married forty years at the time of Otis’s death. She later met and married Bobby Phelps.

Mary Ann worked for Texas Instruments and retired after 28 years. She later went to work at Mesquite School District and retired after 12 years.

Mary Ann is preceded in death by her parents, sisters (Cleva, Lichtenwald, Mildred Williams, and Violet Robertson), husbands (Otis Chapman and Bobby Phelps), sons (Ronny, Barry, Steve, Michael, and John Glenn), and grandson (John Nelson Chapman). She is survived by sister and brother-in-law (Lounell and Benny Bellamy of San Antonio), and daughter and son-in-law (Beth and David Gailley).

Mary Ann Loved the Lord and became a Christian at an early age. She was a member of Forney First Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held at Roselawn Funeral Home, 1000 S Highway 175, Seagoville, Texas, 75159, on May 26, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will take place at Roselawn Funeral Home on May 27, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. A Committal Service will follow at Roselawn Funeral Home on May 27, 2026 at 3:00 pm.
