Pamela Miller Fain, lovingly known as “Pam,” was taken from this world on March 26, 2025, in Combine, Texas. Born on February 4, 1960, in Kaufman, Texas, Pam was the cherished daughter of Horace Ray “Bud” Miller and Ila Geneva “Tootsie” Hawthorne.
Pam will always be remembered as a devoted mother, beloved MiMi, loyal sister, and dear friend. Her love for her family and friends knew no bounds, and her joy came from making others smile.
Pam had a zest for life that was truly unmatched. She loved spending time with family over lunches, attending concerts, and visiting game rooms and casinos—where she was famously lucky. She never passed up a chance to stop at a thrift store, yard sale, or Souls Harbor to see what treasures she might find—often picking up items “just in case someone needed it.” Some might have called her a hoarder, but to Pam, it was all about generosity.
Her greatest joy came from her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was known to hand out dollar bills just to see their faces light up. One of her favorite pastimes was video chatting with her granddaughter Reagan, sharing silly filters and laughing together.
Pam was fiercely independent, full of spirit, and always up for a challenge. If someone told her she couldn’t do something, she’d grin and say, “Hide and watch!” Though she didn’t care much for the holidays, she made it a point to open her home every Thanksgiving and Christmas, preparing meals for anyone who needed a place to go.
With a giving heart and a wild, fearless spirit, Pam never hesitated to help someone in need—whether with a phone call, a meal, or her last dollar. Her kindness was legendary, even when taken for granted, and she always forgave.
Pam was the life of the party—fun-loving, bold, unfiltered, and never afraid to flirt with a handsome stranger. She loved to tease and make people laugh. Her favorite saying captured her essence perfectly:
“Tell me every terrible thing you ever did, and let me love you anyway.”
She was predeceased by her parents, Horace Ray “Bud” Miller and Ila Geneva “Tootsie” Hawthorne, and her siblings, Janet Kannady, Sharon Owen, Kenneth Miller
Pam is survived by her sons, Jason Fain and wife Ashley of Canton, TX, and Joshua Fain of Thief River Falls, MN; her sister Teresa Maxwell of Mesquite, TX; her seven grandchildren: Taylor Fain, Morgan Fain, Madison Fain, Alex Fain, Reagan Fain, Johnny Law, and Farryn Fain; two great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.
