Phyllis Gale Davis

Phyllis Gale McLaughlin Davis age 65, of Balch Springs, peacefully passed from this life on March 2, 2023. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Erica Davis Escobedo, her son-in-law Juan Escobedo, her Father Alex McLaughlin, her Mother Alberta Kines McLaughin Jones, her brother Bruce McLaughlin, and her sister-in-law Kathy Davis Bahm.

Phyllis is survived by the love of her life of 47 years, Thomas (Tommy) Davis Jr., her brothers Dennis McLaughlin of Edgewood, Russell McLaughlin of Patrick, Arkansas, and sisters Patricia McLaughlin Martin and husband Jimmy of Balch Springs, Janet Jones Ingle and husband Thomas of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, sister-in-law Janice McLaughlin (Bruce). Linda Davis Youngblood and husband Roland of Huntsville, Alabama, brother-in-law Michael Davis of Dallas, sister-in-law Paula Davis of Irving, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Phyllis was a graduate of H. Grady Spruce High School. She was a Teachers Aide at Hutcheson Junior High School in Arlington, Texas for 10 years. She loved helping students learn, and watching their faces when they experienced something new. Phyllis spent the majority of her life as a homemaker. She loved caring for her family. Phyllis had several hobbies including needleworking and scrapbooking, but her greatest joy was genealogy. She loved researching and discovering new things about her family. She was an avid fan of the Ancestry website where she gleaned much information about her family tree and the major contributions of prior family members.

Phyllis could be quite the prankster, and definitely an entertaining jokester. She had an amazingly quick wit and a very quirky sense of humor. She was an amazing advocate for children and pets of all kinds. But her greatest fondness was for her husband, her daughter, and her dogs.

A graveside service for Phyllis will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 1000 S Highway 175, Seagoville, TX 75159.
