Mr. Van Edwards

Van Edwards was born in Kleberg, Texas on April 3, 1930 and went home to the Lord on October 31, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents Roy Lee Edwards & Elizabeth (Norris) Edwards; sisters Ollie May Edwards, Mary Edwards Miller and Martha Edwards; brother Sylvester Buck Edwards; half brother William Edwards and great grandson Damoni Max Jackson. Left are his loving wife of 65 years, Ruth Edwards; son Bill Edwards & wife Glenda; daughter Peggy Edwards; daughter Penny Graves; daughter Amy Howell & husband Ralph; grandchildren Misty Smith & husband Brad, Farrah Vanette Couch & husband Chris, Andrew Graves & wife Cheryl, Peter Graves & wife Latasha, Sara Renfro, Billy Howell, David Howell, Iisha Howell, Dalaura Choiniere & husband Josiah, Amber Howell, Sandy West & husband Jeffrey West Jr., Stephanie Howell, Keatrick Howell, Shamicka Howell, Jerry Howell and Laquisha Howell; Great grandchildren Kaylee, Jake, Rayne, Skye, Josiah, P.J., Monica, Justin, Eric, Constance, T’Shaun, Kiera, Nate, Natalie, Janea, Jasmine, Jeffrey III, Damonie, Kelsey, Janyiah, Dominque Jr., John, Moriah and numerous other family loved ones and beloved friend. Van found pleasure doing woodworking projects and gardening. He also enjoyed being with family and going to church. He had been a deacon at Robinwood Baptist Church and Oak Grove Baptist Church for many years. Van was a hard working man who was dedicated to his work and his family. He was employed as a machinist at Dresser Industries and retired in 1995 after 42 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa who was always there when he was needed. Van was loved very much and will be greatly missed.
