I really looked up to Barney J. Ramnauth as a good friend and mentor, Neighbor that was caring. I always loved how a wonderful guy he was. I loved how a wonderful corporal he was. He was a great Police officer. I take his wisdom he gave me. I once spoke to him and told him I wanted to become a police officer like him. He told me that I can do it. He said I can do it. He told me that I am young and I can make a good Police Officer. I always thought of Barney Ramnauth as I became a Security Officer. Now I am heading to becoming a Police officer. I am so sad to see Barney passed away. I am really sad and hurt that he passed away. I know that he is in a better place now.

I joined the DPTMS team in April 2018. Barney was one of the first to congratulate and welcome me. His was the first “Good Morning” on duty days, and “see you tomorrow” at the end of the day.  Things that needed to be done, he already took care of. 

A proud Papa and humble LE professional, you tried to right wrongs, and surpassed most people I know with integrity and excellent in all you did.  We miss you already Barney but I know that your spirit will live on forever in your children. RIP my friend!

Barney was a stand up guy.  I will always remember him as humble, good-hearted, funny, and a friend to all. Never once did I know him to wish ill will to anyone. I and many high school classmates will remember him fondly and we are better for having known him. RIP brother and love, prayers, and strength to your loved ones.

Hello my name is Darren King I am the cousin of Bonnie Joseph ramnath he was like a brother to me I will surely miss them now he's with the angels of the Lord farewell my cousin

Barney Ramnauth was one of the finest police officers who worked for me when I was the chief at the Presidio of Monterey Police Department. He always took others into consideration before himself, he supported his community in every way he knew how. Corporal Ramnauth voluntarily took on additional duties and assignments without additional compensation. He took every opportunity to improve the work environment of his brother and sister police officers, his recommendations led to many improvements in the Police Department.
Corporal Ramnauth cared so much about his family, we spoke almost daily about their activities and futures. He truly was a family man who  did whatever it took to improve their lives protect and nurture them. 
I have worked daily with Barney Ramnauth, side by side, I knew him well as he shared with me his passion for family, love of life and desire to be the best he could. Barney will be missed by many but most of all, me. He was a brother in arms.

Rest easy Corporal Ramnauth, your watch is over, we've got it from here.
